How you can Support FilmDis

From spreading the word by sharing our links and social media posts to financial contributions, there are many ways that you can help FilmDis to grow and thrive. It is our mission to improve representation in front of and behind the camera for disabled and intersectionally marginalized individuals. If you agree that things need to change for the better, and you want to help, here are some of the best ways to do that:

Share our Content:

The easiest (and cheapest) way to support FilmDis is to simply spread our links and social media posts far and wide. You don’t have to share them all, if you don’t want (of course), but if you see something you like and you think it makes sense – pass it on. Not only do we appreciate the support, it allows more people to see what we’re doing, which could lead to us being able to do that much more in the future!

Comment on our Social Media and Articles:

Did you read something we wrote and you have an opinion or want to ask a question? Reply to our social media or leave a comment on our articles. Not only does that give you a chance to make a new friend, it allows us to continue the discussion and that’s an invaluable part of what we do.

Financial Support via Patreon:

We have a FilmDis Patreon, which allows people who are able to lend some financial support to what we’re doing. Currently, we have very little funding for our FilmDis Annual Study into Disability Representation on TV. Extra funding means that we can watch more shows, hire more help, and offer a greater impact. Funding also allows us to create additional media projects ranging from podcasts and workshops to classes and short (or feature) films.

You can donate as little as $1 per month through our FilmDis Patreon. We also have tiers (starting at $2 per month) available that come with additional rewards for your patronage.

If you don’t want to be in a tier you can leave a custom amount. You can also leave a one-time payment.

Keep in mind that Patreon doesn’t give you the one-time payment option. For this you would want to offer a custom amount or join a tier and then you’d want to cancel your patronage before you were billed again. Billing occurs monthly on the day you sign up. So, if you sign up on the 10th, you’d be billed monthly on that same day.

Thank you so much for all your time and continued support. We appreciate you and couldn’t do what we do without it!
